Announcing the 21/64 Certified Advisors of Color Program Inaugural Cohort
21/64 is proud to welcome the inaugural cohort for the Certified Advisors of Color Program and are immensely grateful for the 21/64 Advisory Committeewho worked earnestly to review video submissions on the four criteria required for the
selection of this cohort.
Due to the caliber and extraordinary character of the applicants this pilot year, we decided to proceed with an expanded cohort of 16 participants and invited Nitika Raj to join our Advisory Committee. Not only will this align with our value of providing access to more professionals, but we also hope it will lead to a greater ripple effect in promoting inclusive practices and diversity in philanthropic advising, decision-making and governance; and
in turn, expand the types of funding and investments donors are making.
During this year-long experience, the 21/64 team - along with our Advisory Committee, mentors and coaches in the field - will work with the cohort participants to:
Deepentheir practices on multigenerational family and next gen
philanthropy so as to be relational and transformational with donors of all ages, stages and backgrounds;
Engagetheir cohort of colleagues to provide a supportive and brave learning environment, to explore ideas, and adopt new strategies and skills;
Honetheir storytelling skills and receive customized coaching and mentoring to articulate their vision as philanthropic advisors; and,
Amplify their voices by leveraging 21/64's network to access thought leadership opportunities and express a call to action to encourage diversity, equity and inclusion in the field.
This cohort brings a wide and admirable range of backgrounds, lived experiences and professional expertise. We want to thank them for stepping up to share their story in their video submissions and for giving us the opportunity to learn about what they wish to accomplish through their work.
Not only did they express theircommitment to diversify philanthropic resources in support of the communities with whom they work, but also articulated
their readiness to incorporate a multigenerational approach and to partner with donor families and the next generation who have the power and potential to make a difference.
We are grateful for their trust in our organization as we begin this learning journey together.
Thanks to initial funding from the Joyce and Irving Goldman Family Foundation and inspired by the Career Pathways Program at the Council on Foundations, we hope to advance inclusive practices and diversity in philanthropic advising, decision-making and governance.
